STARCAST Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-01 · Last updated: 2026-09-23

In short

STARCAST does not send your child's information off the device.

There is no sign-up, no advertising, and no analytics. Deleting the app deletes everything.

1. What we keep, and where

Everything stays on this device only. Nothing is sent anywhere, including to our servers.

Channel nameShown on the stream. It is built by picking from ready-made words, never typed, so there is no place for personal information to goDevice

Past streamsTo watch again in "My channel". These are records of what was placed, not videos, and contain no face or voiceDevice

We receive no information on any server.

2. Microphone

The microphone is used for three things only.

1. How loudly your child is talking — talking more brings more pretend viewers.

Only a loudness number is read; nothing is saved.

2. Understanding simple words — if your child says "so pretty", the pretend viewers react.

This happens on the device only (never sent over the internet). The words are not saved

or shown; they are used only to pick a ready-made reaction and then discarded. This feature

only turns on for devices that support on-device recognition, and it never falls back to

internet-based recognition.

3. Putting their voice in a video — when your child taps "Save as video", their voice

from the stream goes into the video. The recording is deleted as soon as the video is made.

The game works fully without microphone permission.

3. Photos

Only when "Save as video" is tapped, we ask for permission to add the video to Photos.

We never read any other photos or videos.

Sending a video to YouTube or anywhere else requires a grown-up check (a question only an

adult can answer), after which a parent uses the phone's own share feature.

We never sign in to any account.

4. What we don't do

5. Keeping and deleting

Because everything lives on the device, deleting the app deletes all of it.

Past streams can also be deleted one at a time inside the app.

6. Children (under 13 in the US · under 14 in Korea · 15 and under in Japan)

STARCAST is made for children. Because v1.0 **does not process personal information off the

device**, there is no processing that requires parental consent.

If we ever add a feature to watch other children's streams (a feed), we will **tell parents and

get their consent before** that feature turns on. It will not turn on without consent.

7. Parents' rights

Because everything is on the device, a parent can remove all information at any time by

deleting the app. For questions or requests, please contact us below.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, we will announce it with an app update and show the effective date.

Any change that would collect new information about a child will ask for parental consent first.
